Galena Ridge, located in the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness Area in Northwest Montana, provides a small, high quality, rigorous outdoor adventure program with strong educational and emotional growth components. We challenge students and their families to address difficult emotional issues and make positive changes in their lives. In operation each year from May to August, the usual length of stay is 4 - 12 weeks, with rolling admission between expeditions. Our activities include backpacking, orienteering, canoeing, primitive living skills, environmental awareness activities, service projects, and emotional growth education. A family conference is scheduled at the end of the summer program.

.
Students:
Galena Ridge accepts boys who are 12 - 17 years old. Students enrolled in our program are typically teenagers who have been experiencing conflict in their home lives and who may be having difficulty in school. Galena Ridge is also a physically challenging program and teens that are not able to be active for health reasons may not be appropriate for enrollment.

.
Program Leadership: Paul Clark is the owner and director of Galena Ridge. Additional staff members are hired as instructors each summer. Paul is a 1979 graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Environmental Studies and Earth Science education with teaching certification.

Galena Ridge operates under special use permits with the Lolo, Kootenai, and Beaverhead/Deerlodge National Forests. Galena Ridge is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
